2023 Honda CR-V
Redesigned inside and out for the 2023 model year, the Honda CR-V comes in as a top contender in the uber-competitive compact SUV market. The 2023 Honda CR-V is larger than previous model years and has increased passenger and cargo space on the inside, making this compact SUV feel more like a midsize vehicle. Honda has also updated its in-line turbocharged four-cylinder engine and its all-wheel-drive system for improved performance and handling. Honda also included a number of standard driver assist systems on the 2023 CR-V, including blind-spot monitoring, a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning, just to name a few.
2023 Subaru Forester
The 2023 Subaru Forester carries over from the previous model year with no new styling or added features. Though it boasts a slightly larger interior volume than the CR-V (108 cubic feet versus the CR-V's 104), the Forester manages to achieve less cargo capacity, offering just 27 cubic feet of cargo volume versus the CR-V's expansive 36 cubic feet. The interior of the Subaru is smartly designed, but the screen sizes are also smaller than the CR-V. The 2023 Subaru Forester offers a 6.5-inch standard touchscreen infotainment system with the option to upgrade to 8 inches, while the CR-V offers a standard 7-inch touchscreen with the option to upgrade to 9 inches. With a 10/10 rating from Car and Driver and a spot on their 10Best list, it's no surprise that the 2023 Honda CR-V comes out on top in this competition.
