Buying a new car from a Honda dealership offers many benefits, one of which is a comprehensive standard car warranty. We’ve simplified what this warranty covers in the article below.

What’s Covered Under the Car Warranty Offered at a Honda Dealership
New Vehicle Warranty
Under this warranty, Honda will replace or repair covered parts that are defective in material or workmanship under normal use for 3 years or 36,000 miles, or whichever comes first. In short, as long as you don’t mess up, you’ll be fine.
However, you should know that some parts of your vehicle may have different time and mileage warranties, unless they are required as part of a warranty repair. For instance, the original batteries for key fobs and remotes have a coverage period of only six months. The tires may also be warranted separately.
Powertrain Warranty
The powertrain warranty covers the parts of your Honda that provide power and make it move, such as the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. These components are by far the most critical part of your car and are typically costly to fix, hence have a longer coverage period of 5 years/150,000 miles.
Rust Perforation Warranty
Original body panels that rust completely through from the inside out are covered under this warranty for 5 years or unlimited miles
Federal Emissions Warranty
This warranty covers the parts that make up Honda’s emissions control systems for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
High-Voltage Battery Capacity Warranty
In the case where your dealer judges that your battery has degraded at a faster rate than normal, the High-Voltage Battery Capacity Warranty will cover it. This warranty’s coverage kicks off at the same date as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and continues for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Replacement 12-Volt Battery
Replacement batteries are covered for 100 months. During the first 36 months of service, the defective battery will be replaced at no cost. For the remaining 64 months, you will receive a credit toward the purchase of the 12-volt battery.
Replacement Exhaust Components
The warranty for replacement mufflers, A-pipes, and B-pipes last for as long as you own the vehicle on which they are installed and have proof of purchase for the failed exhaust components.
Roadside Assistance
Each new Honda car comes with 24/7 Roadside Assistance Warranty for 3 years/36,000 miles, though you will receive 3 years/unlimited miles if you have a hybrid or fuel cell car. Service you will enjoy under this warranty include towing services, battery jump-starts, lockout assistance, and more.
