3. Carlsmith Beach Park 

Carlsmith Beach Park, at 1827 Kalanianaole Avenue, is an untouched Hawaiian beach perfect for exploring. It’s the ideal beach for swimming, thanks to the sloping shore, and the water is balmy and gentle. Plus, there’s a nearby pier where visitors can stroll and enjoy a whole new view of the island.
You might also have the chance to see some wildlife, including turtles, local birds, and fish. There’s plenty of parking nearby and just a few minutes from Hilo, so it’s the perfect afternoon getaway.  

4. Liliuokalani Gardens 

See some of Hawaii’s most beautiful scenery at Liliuokalani Gardens, at 191 Lihiwai Street. With lovely manicured grounds, gorgeous views of the nearby mountains, and sculptures. It’s a beautiful place to stroll, with Japanese-style bridges, pagodas, and other structures.
