Healthy brakes are essential for the safety of you and your Honda. They can easily mean the difference between a near miss and a collision. Your brakes require regular services to keep them working effectively. These are a few signs that you have brake trouble, and it’s time to see your Honda dealer for a brake repair.

Signs You Need a Brake Repair at Your Honda Dealer

Your Brakes Pull to One Side

If your car starts to pull to the left or right when you jam on the rakes, you have a brake problem. Your brakes should all operate simultaneously, and your car should stop without any further movement till you release the brake pedal. The turning movement your car makes is due to a failure in the brake system on one of the wheels.
The two main reasons your car turns towards the side are a blockage in the brake hose or a damaged caliper. A damaged caliper may not clamp against the rotor as it should. This causes your car to turn in the direction of the working brake caliper. A blockage in a brake hose can prevent fluid from exerting pressure to close the caliper. We’ll investigate and fix the problem for you.

Your Brakes Look Damaged

If you grab a flashlight and look through the spokes of your wheel, you can see many of your brake system components. You can easily identify the brake pads, calipers, rotors, and even parts of the brake hoses. A visual inspection isn’t always accurate, but it can indicate possible trouble, for example, severely scarred wheel rotors or a rusted caliper.
The wheel rotors must be smooth to provide the best possible surface for the rotors to grip. If you see evidence of scratching, smeared adhesive, or other marks on the surface, the rotor has a problem. You may find yourself experiencing vibrations each time you brake due to the irregular rotor surface on the affected wheel. We can fix this, and any other brake damage very quickly.

Your Brakes Are Leaking

A brake fluid leak can easily result in an accident. Brake fluid is essential for your braking system, as it provides the hydraulic power to push the calipers against the rotors and stop your car. As brake fluid is lost, your brakes will become slower to respond and can even fail. Brake fluid is pressurized, and this means it can be rapidly lost through even a tiny hole in the system.
You normally don’t see leaking brake fluid, as it’s pale yellow and blends into most surfaces. We can trace a leak and repair it. Once we’re sure there are no other leaks, we’ll refill the brake fluid.
